“Honors Program winners are vetted and selected by me from a top-tier benchmarking group established based on answers to select survey questions,” says Derek Korn, Modern Machine Shop’s Executive Editor who heads the magazine’s Top Shops benchmarking program. “Baker Industries has a wealth of advanced computer numerical control machining equipment and has adopted additive manufacturing technology to create more efficient tooling solutions for its customers.”
Baker Industries President, Kevin Baker noted, “Scott and I have always been willing to take risks to stay at the forefront of the industry. Those risks have included making some major investments in machining capability and more recently additive manufacturing. We’ve always kept an ear to the ground to figure out what’s coming next. We believe our intuition has led us to our Top Shops status.”
Results from this year’s Top Shops benchmarking survey will be presented at the Top Shops Workshop (topshopsevent.com) during the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) on Thursday, September 13 in Chicago, Illinois. Baker Industries Program Engineer, Jerry Kablak, will be part of a panel discussion about industry trends at the workshop.
